Mississauga – After dealing the first overall selection in the 2010 CFL Canadian Draft to Saskatchewan, the Toronto Argonauts used their newly-acquired second overall choice to select OT Joe Eppele, Washington State.

Tipping the scales at 6-feet, 8-inches tall and over 300 pounds, Eppele received extensive playing time at Washington State. A three-time second-team PAC-10 academic all-star, the hulking tackle started five games and dressed in 33 games over his four seasons as a Cougar.

Eppele enthused, “It’s an amazing opportunity and overall great feeling that all my hard work and everything I’ve sacrificed over the years have led to this. It is great to be selected so high and to be able to come into such a great organization.  My goal is to make an immediate impact and I plan to continue to work morning, noon and night to prepare for training camp.”

Jim Barker, “This is the guy we wanted.  He has great size, athletic ability and intelligence and has played at the highest level of college football in the U.S.  His skills suit either guard or tackle which makes him versatile. I’m excited to watch Joe’s development in the years to come.”
