Now is your chance to become a part of Toronto’s most exciting and established cheerleading team. The Toronto Argonauts are currently looking for an elite squad of Game Day Cheerleaders! Interact with some of the biggest sport fans and help bring energy to the stands! This is your opportunity to represent your city, support some meaningful charity events and act as a role model for many young girls.
What is a Game Day Cheerleader?
• An elite squad STRICTLY for game day participation (on camera promotions, t-shirt toss, suite visits, calendar sales, etc.) and post-game appearances.
• Selected specifically for her outstanding personality and the ability to mingle & converse with others.
• A non-performing/dancing cheerleader held to the same high standards as the dance squad and required to follow the same rules and regulations.
• Someone who is unable to commit to the busy rehearsal schedule of a performing cheerleader but still wishes to be part of the team and the action!
Requirements:
• Must attend ALL 10 home games and be on call for any appearances throughout the season other than game day (if performing cheerleaders unavailable).
• Must be at least 19 years of age by June 1, 2011
• Must be a high school graduate as of June 1, 2011
• Great personality/outgoing. Cannot be shy!
• Adhere the same physique requirements as the dance/performing group.
• No dance experience required. We are not looking for applicants who wish to be on the performance/dance team.
• Previous promotional work experience is a bonus!
• Available for website and promotional photo shoots.
• Available for a scheduled interview April 21 (evening)
• Available for Cheerleader Boot Camp weekend (April 16-17)
How to become an Game Day Cheerleader:
• Applications must be submitted BEFORE APRIL 21, 2011
• Fill out an Ambassador team application form found on-line
• Must include a full body picture (workout attire, midriff exposed, full hair and makeup) and resume
• If we are interested in your application, we will then contact you to set up a personal interview time before APRIL 21. Being called for an interview does not mean you have made the team. Please do not contact us. We will contact you!

DO GAME DAY CHEERLEADERS RECEIVE COMPENSATION?
Game Day Cheerleaders are compensated with 2 game day tickets per game and a small honorarium. Opportunities for paid appearances are available throughout the season as well. Game Day Cheerleaders may also be compensated with team clothing, bags, shoes, makeup and other great perks..
DO GAME DAY CHEERLEADERS WEAR THE SAME UNIFORM AS PERFORMING CHEERLEADERS?
YES! Game Day Cheerleaders must adhere to same physique requirements as the dance/performing group.
DO GAME DAY CHEERLEADERS APPEAR IN CHEERLEADER PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL?
Yes, there is opportunity to appear in cheerleader promotional material (magazine ads, posters, calendar, website, etc.)
DO GAME DAY CHEERLEADERS TRAVEL TO GREYCUP AND OTHER OUT OF TOWN GAMES?
NO. Game Day Cheerleaders are strictly for home games at Rogers Centre.
ARE THERE ANY HEIGHT & WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS?
We DO NOT have specific height and weight requirements, however, we are looking for athletic girls in good physical condition.
ARE THERE ANY AGE REQUIREMENTS?
You must be at least 19 years of age by June 1, 2011. Recent ages of cheerleaders have ranged from 19 to 37.

WHAT IS CHEERLEADER BOOT CAMP?
This is designed to teach the new 2011 Argos cheerleading team about the Argos history, how the Argos function within each department & how their new role of a Cheerleader will impact the Argos and the community. Most importantly, you will get to know your new teammates!
