Argos sign Georgia Tech product Stephen Hill

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced today that the team has signed international receiver Stephen Hill.

Hill, a 6-4, 215-pound native of Tucker, Georgia, comes to Toronto after spending the last five seasons in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets, who selected him in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. In 33 games, 19 of which he started, Hill caught 45 passes for 594 yards and four touchdowns.

The Georgia Tech product registered 49 receptions for 1,248 yards and nine touchdowns in three seasons with the Ramblin’ Wreck. As a senior, he ranked 10th in the ACC and 79th nationally in receiving per game (63.08).

The Argonauts also announced today that the club has signed international defensive back Jabriel Washington.

Washington, a 5-10, 185-pound native of Jackson, Tennessee, played four seasons at the University of Alabama, registering 24 tackles and two interceptions. The 2016 College Football Playoff Champion and two-time BCS National Champion and SEC Champion spent training camp with the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams last season.

Both Hill and Washington will get their first taste of the CFL game next week when the Argonauts take the field for the first time under head coach Marc Trestman at the team’s mini-camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
