Five things to know about Chandler Worthy

1) The 5-9, 173-pound receiver was born in Griffin, Georgia, making him one of two Argonauts with a hometown in the Peach State. He grew up with two sisters – Bianca and Summer – and a brother, Greg, who played college football at Furman.

2) Worthy attended Griffin High School where, in addition to football, he ran track, helping lock up a runner-up finish in the state 4×100 relay. On the gridiron, Worthy played both defensive back and wingback at Griffin, rushing for 398 yards on offence while adding 64 tackles and two interceptions on defence in his senior year. The second team all-region selection also returned kicks on a team that recorded a 13-1 record in his final season.

3) After being recruited as a two-star defensive back, Worthy made the switch to receiver at Troy. Named All-Sun Belt Conference as both a return specialist (First Team) and all-purpose player (Second Team) in his senior year, Worthy became the sixth player in FBS history with a kickoff return touchdown in back-to-back games. He finished 2014 with 1,187 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns while wrapping up his Troy career with the second-most kickoff return yards (1,919) in school history.

4) Worthy turned heads at his Troy pro day, notching two consecutive 40-yard dash times of 4.34 seconds. He also posted a 39.5-inch vertical jump, 11-foot-5 broad jump, 17 bench press reps at 225-lb and a 4.04 short shuttle time. Every single score was higher than the average score by wide receivers at the 2015 NFL Combine.

5) After signing as an undrafted free agent with Houston following the 2015 NFL Draft, Worthy played in three games with the Texans. Following his time in Texas, he signed with the New York Jets where he recorded 29 receiving yard and 50 kick return yards during the 2016 preseason.
