Argos add three to practice roster

The Toronto Argonauts announced today that the team has signed international defensive backs Ri’Shard Anderson and Winston Rose, as well as international offensive lineman Brandon Washington, to the practice roster.

Anderson, a 5-11, 194-pound native of Miramar, Florida, spent parts of the 2014 and 2015 seasons with the Tennessee Titans, following a five-year college career at Syracuse. In 44 games for the Orange, Anderson tallied 101 defensive tackles, four tackles for a loss, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and seven pass knockdowns.

Rose, a 6-0, 174-pound native of Inglewood, California, recorded one defensive tackle and one pass deflection in 2016 preseason action with the Indianapolis Colts. The 22-year old defensive back spent two seasons at New Mexico State, where he recorded 54 tackles, one tackle for a loss, five interceptions, seven pass knockdowns, and a fumble recovery for the Aggies. Prior to his time at New Mexico State, Rose spent two seasons at Los Angeles Valley College, where he was named Second Team All-Conference in 2011 and First Team All-Conference in 2012.

Washington, a 6-3, 320-pound native of Miami, Florida, was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round (200th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. He most recently spent training camp with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, following a three-year stint with the St. Louis Rams. In three seasons at the University of Miami, Washington played in 38 games, starting 27, and was named a First Team All-ACC selection in his 2010 sophomore season.

The Argonauts also announced Monday that the team has released the following three players from the practice roster:

  • INT QB Brady Bolles
  • INT DB Quinton Pointer
  • INT WR Wallace Miles
