Argos name new Receivers Coach

Toronto Argonauts head coach Scott Milanovich made an addition to the club’s coaching staff today, announcing Taylor Stubblefield as the Receivers coach.

“Taylor is a great addition to our coaching staff as he brings youth, knowledge and experience to our staff.” Scott Milanovich.

“We’re excited to have him onboard as we begin to lay the ground work for the 2016 season starting in training camp this week.”

Stubblefield joins the Argonauts coaching staff in 2016 after spending eight seasons in the NCAA where he acquired a diverse geographical coaching portfolio, having worked in the Southeast, Northwest, Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions.

The Yakima, Washington native entered the coaching ranks at Central Washington in 2007, followed by stints at Eastern Michigan, as a graduate assistant in 2008, Illinois State, Central Michigan, New Mexico, Wake Forest and Utah.

Over his eight-year tenure in the colligate ranks, Stubblefield produced six all-conference recipients, an All-American and two NFL Draft picks under his watch.

As a player, Stubblefield starred at Purdue University where he was a consensus All-American in 2004 and a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, presented to the most outstanding receiver in American college football. His 316 career receptions set the then NCAA record and his 3,629 career receiving yards ranks second in Big Ten conference history. Stubblefield’s 16 touchdown receptions as a senior in 2004 set the Boilermakers single-season record.

Following his illustrious career at Purdue, he went on to play four seasons in the professional ranks with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and St. Louis Rams and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
