The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today that they have selected the University of Guelph and Alumni Stadium as the site of their 2016 Training Camp.
“Our decision to host training camp at the University of Guelph was based on our belief that this facility is best for our football team’s preparation for the upcoming season,” said Jim Barker, Argonauts General Manager. “Alumni Stadium has an excellent football field and all of the other necessary facilities we need to be successful. We couldn’t be more excited about heading to Guelph later this Spring.”
Argonauts training camp kicks off with a three-day rookie camp that includes veteran quarterbacks and first-year CFL players beginning on Wednesday, May 25. All other veteran players will report to training camp on Saturday, May 28.
The Argonauts roster currently includes three players who played for the University of Guelph Gryphons – 2015 CFL Draft picks Dan MacDonald and Cam Walker, as well as long snapper Jake Reinhart. The Argos previously held training camp at the University of Guelph in between 1978 to 1995.
A full detailed schedule for 2016 Training Camp will be distributed prior to Rookie Camp opening on May 25.

The Toronto Argonauts also announced today that the club will hold its 2016 rookie-free agent camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
The Argonauts coaching staff will run a three-day rookie-free agent camp from April 24-26 at IMG Academy. The camp will feature players that are under contract entering their first CFL season, negotiation list players and invited free agents.
A detailed rookie-free agent camp practice schedule will be made available to the media prior to camp opening. All on-field sessions are open to the media.
The Argos’ highly anticipated home opener at BMO Field kicks off the CFL season on Thursday, June 23 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Fans can access tickets to the home opener right now by purchasing season tickets or a three-game flex pack. Season seat holders will also be the firsts to have access to purchase 104th Grey Cup tickets which will be played at BMO Field on Sunday, November 27.
