Argos Add Walker & Joe

MISSISSAUGA – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club has added CFL experience to its offence and NFL experience to its defence by signing former Roughrider WR/KR Gerran Walker and LB Leon Joe. The two have combined for 39 regular season pro games, a Grey Cup run and a Super Bowl drive.

Walker played the past two seasons in Saskatchewan as a receiver and kick returner. The Lehigh University product started 19 regular season games and recorded 866 combined yards. He also started the 2009 West Final and the Grey Cup game in Calgary. The small but speedy receiver, who will also try out at kick returner, has also spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers and in NFL Europa.

Leon Joe is a veteran of 19 NFL games, and one CFL game, and was a member of the Chicago Bears’ 2006 NFC Championship team. The former Maryland Terp was a special teams sparkplug who finished second on the Bears with 21 special teams tackles in 2005. Chicago’s fourth round pick in 2004, Joe has also gained experience with the Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions. Joe dressed for one game in 2009 with the Montreal Alouettes.
